1. Product Introduction

An insulated (jacketed) valve is a special valve equipped with a heating/cooling jacket or insulation layer on the outer wall of the standard valve body. By introducing heat or cold media such as steam, heat transfer oil, or cooling water into the jacket, it maintains the temperature of the process fluid inside the valve. This prevents the fluid from solidifying, crystallizing, increasing in viscosity, or condensing, ensuring the normal operation of the pipeline system.

Its core functions are to reduce heat exchange of the fluid, lower energy consumption, and stabilize process parameters. It is suitable for industrial fluid systems requiring constant temperature control.


2. Technical Specifications

 Nominal Diameter (DN): DN15 DN600 (NPS NPS24); custom large sizes available on request.

 Nominal Pressure (PN/Class): PN16 PN160 (Class150 Class900); ultra-high pressure models are available for high-pressure conditions.

 Temperature Range: -196 625, depending on material and seal type (e.g., PTFE seal 150; metal hard seal 625).

 Sealing Class: ANSI Class VI / ISO 5208 Class A; metal hard seals are available for zero-leakage requirements.

 Connection Type: Flanged, butt-welded, wafer, welded; butt-welded is preferred for high-pressure or flammable/explosive media.

3. Main Product Types and Applications

 Insulated Ball Valve: One-piece or split body with polished ball; PTFE/graphite/metal hard seals. Suitable for high-viscosity, highly corrosive media (e.g., molten sulfur, sugar syrup) and applications requiring quick shut-off.

 Insulated Gate Valve: Rising stem design with low flow resistance and erosion-resistant sealing surface. Ideal for large-diameter, high-flow, steady-media pipelines (e.g., district heating).

 Insulated Globe Valve: Integral jacket with straight-through flow path and good throttling performance. Used in chemical/pharmaceutical pipelines requiring precise regulation to prevent crystallization.

 Insulated Butterfly Valve: Rotary disc design with lightweight structure and easy maintenance. Suitable for large-diameter, low-pressure applications with moderate sealing requirements (e.g., wastewater treatment).

 Insulated Check Valve: Prevents backflow and keeps media from freezing via jacket insulation. Installed at pump outlets and in parallel multi-pipe systems to prevent backflow and freezing.

 Insulated Plug Valve: Plug-style seal with jacket welded between two flanges. Suited for high-viscosity media with minor particles and frequent on-off cycles.


4. Main Component Materials

 Valve Body: WCB carbon steel, CF8 (304), CF8M (316L), chrome-molybdenum steel, duplex steel. Carbon steel for general service; stainless steel for corrosion resistance; chrome-molybdenum steel for high-temperature and high-pressure conditions.

 Internal Parts: Stainless steel, hardfacing alloys, Monel alloy. Wear-resistant and erosion-resistant, suitable for media containing particles.

 Seals: PTFE, PPL, graphite, metal rings. PTFE for moderate/low temperatures; graphite/metal for high-temperature and high-pressure conditions.

 Jacket: Carbon steel or stainless steel (welded with the same material as the valve body). Withstands pressure, prevents leakage, and ensures heat transfer efficiency.

 Outer Insulation: Rock wool, glass wool, aluminum silicate, aerogel, polyurethane foam. Rock wool/glass wool is low-cost; aerogel offers ultra-low thermal conductivity (0.035 W/(mK)).


5. Product Features

 Efficient Heating/Cooling: The jacket structure provides uniform heat transfer, preventing media from solidifying, crystallizing, or condensing, and avoiding internal valve blockages.

 Low Flow Resistance: Full bore design, with flow resistance equal to a pipe segment of the same length, reducing energy consumption.

 Wide Adaptability: Suitable for high-temperature, high-pressure, high-viscosity, highly corrosive, and flammable/explosive media.

 Easy Installation and Maintenance: Manual/electric/pneumatic actuation options are available; the jacket interface is standardized, allowing the valve body to be removed independently for maintenance.
